Monteiros Competições has confirmed its driver line-up for the BMW M4 GT4 (F82) in the Iberian Supercars and the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade, entrusting the seats to two rising stars from the 2024 FPAK Junior Team, Rúben Silva and Henrique Moura Oliveira.
The Portuguese outfit was responsible for fielding Rui Miritta GTC winner Porsche 911. This upcoming season, they are taking a step forward by entering the Munich-built machine in the GTX division.
Monteiros Competições also provides support to the FPAK Junior Team, which competes with three Ginetta G40s for six youngsters backed by the Portuguese ASN. The decision for the BMW M4 GT4 (F82) fell on two drivers from last year’s team.
Rúben Silva and Henrique Moura Oliveira were among the young talents who stood out last year in the series. This year, both drivers will progress to the GTX division under the guidance of Monteiros Competições.
Rúben Silva is excited about this new phase in his career and has set ambitious goals. “I feel truly comfortable and confident going into this season. Once again, we will be competing with Monteiros Competições, and I will be racing alongside the same teammate who partnered with me in two of last year’s four races, Henrique Oliveira. I have everything I could wish for this season,” said the 21-year-old, adding: “In this new chapter, racing with the BMW M4 GT4 (F82) in a faster and more demanding category, my goal is to quickly adapt to the car, find our rhythm, and fight for podiums and victories from the outset, with a clear aim of winning the GTX division title. My partnership with Henrique Oliveira, who shares my determination and competitive mindset, further strengthens our confidence in achieving significant results.”
Henrique Oliveira is equally confident, although he expects strong competition. “This is a new chapter in my career. I’ve already proven in the GT4 Winter Series that I can deliver results for the team,” said the 16-year-old, who went on to add: “I’m entering the championship with high expectations. My teammate and I know each other very well, which I believe will be crucial in ensuring a season where we can both grow as drivers and individuals. Naturally, our goal this season is to win the division, which has been growing and attracting more teams. I hope everything goes according to plan and that I can repay Monteiros Competições for this incredible opportunity.”
The team will hit the track for the Official Test Day on Saturday, 22nd March, at the Autódromo do Estoril The season opener follows two weeks later, with the first round of the season set for 5th–6th April at the Algarve International do Algarve.
