Veloso Motorsport is set to continue its legacy in the 2025 Iberian Supercars and Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade, extending its streak of consecutive seasons in national motorsport beyond three decades.
The team has confirmed its first driver lineup for the new double campaign in the Iberian Supercars and the CPV, with Paulo Macedo and Luís Calheiros taking the wheel of the Porsche 718 Cayman RS GT4.
Macedo and Calheiros, an established pairing in Portuguese GT racing, will once again compete in the GT4 Bronze division, where they have proven their pace over the past two seasons. The duo secured a podium finish in 2023 with third place in the standings, followed by a solid fifth in 2024.
Both drivers bring a wealth of experience to the program, having competed in multiple national racing series. Macedo has extensive GT4 endurance experience, while Calheiros has followed a similar trajectory. Prior to their GT campaigns, both drivers honed their skills in the Super Seven by Toyo Tires championship.
Veloso Motorsport’s ambitions for 2025 are clear - fighting at the sharp end of the GT4 Bronze field. Macedo has already had a first taste of the Porsche 718 Cayman RS GT4, having contested the final round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe, gaining valuable mileage in the car ahead of the Supercars Endurance season.
Team principal Luís Veloso commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Paulo and Luís to Veloso Motorsport. They are a proven duo with the consistency and pace to challenge at the front in Iberian Supercars and CPV. The Porsche 718 Cayman RS GT4 is a highly competitive platform, and with our support, I am confident they will be in the fight for top honours in GT4 Bronze and the overall Iberian Supercars and CPV field”.
