Tockwith Motorsports returns to the Iberian Supercars with a strong commitment, entering four cars for this season.
Since the inception of the series, the British team has consistently been in the fray, garnering recognition for its formidable presence with Ginettas. In 2024, with new colors and a new partner, Tockwith Motorsports will enter three Ginetta cars - two in the GTX division and a third registered as Invitational - along with one Porsche Cup car.
After their debut in the Iberian competition in 2023, driving a Ginetta G50, Steve Kirton and Jonathan Elsworth secured four podiums in their division, finishing the season in fourth place in the GTX driver standings with ninety-two points. This year, the British duo returns with renewed optimism, poised to drive a Ginetta G55.
Last season, Tomás Pinto Abreu and Simon Moore emerged as key contenders in the battle for top positions in the GTX division. They secured five podium finishes, enabling them to clinch third place in the GTX driver standings with 111 points. The Portuguese-British duo is back this year to drive a Ginetta G50, vowing to contend for the top spots in their division once again.
After a one-year hiatus, Aubrey Hall and his elder brother, Marmaduke Hall, the winner of the GT4 category in the Supercars Endurance of 2021, are making their return to the Iberian series this season. This familial duo will be behind the wheel of a Ginetta G55, which was last seen at the Vila Real Circuit in 2022 and will be entered as an Invitational entry.
Tockwith Motorsport will also field the Porsche 911 Cup from Bespoke Cars Racing, driven by Marcus Fothergill and Dave Benett, who will be defending the Cup division crown they secured in 2023.
The British team, headquartered in Guadix (Spain), also offers another Ginetta G55 available for rent.
Nigel Moore, Team Manager of Tockwith Motorsports, said: "We are thrilled to return to Iberian Supercars with four cars and a winning ambition to conquer both the GTX and Cup divisions. It brings us immense joy to witness Steve and Jonathan stepping up to a G55, alongside the return of the Hall brothers to the series. Dave and Marcus are set to pursue victory in the Cup division while also being contenders in the GTC. Last but not least, Simon and Tomás will be drivers to watch after showcasing strong performances last year. We are also proud to welcome Invisible Glass as a team partner for this season, along with Osram, Ring, and Chicane supporting one of our cars.”
The first round of the Iberian Supercars will take place at the Jerez Circuit on May 25th and 26th.
