Tockwith Motorsports is set to make a strong return to the Iberian Supercars, Supercars España and Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade, fielding three Ginetta G55s in the GTX division and a Porsche 911 in the Cup division.
The British outfit has been a consistent presence in these championships for many years, establishing itself as a leading contender for victories in both the GTX class—dedicated to de-homologated GT4 cars—and the Cup division, which features machinery from single-make series.
In 2024, Tockwith Motorsports was in formidable form in GTX, clinching both the Iberian Supercars and Supercars España titles with the pairing of Simon Moore and Tomás Pinto Abreu in a season-long battle that went down to the wire. This duo will return to action in 2025, defending their titles at the wheel of the team’s #25 Ginetta G55.
York-based Tockwith Motorsports’ second Ginetta G55 will be shared by familiar faces Steve Kirton and Jonathan Elsworth, who finished third and fourth, respectively, in last season’s Iberian Supercars GTX standings.
The third G55 entry will be driven by Gracie Mitchell, who made her series debut last year with a victory in the final round at Estoril alongside Henrique Cruz, and Luca Staccini Anzanello. The Italy-born, UK-based driver has experience across multiple touring car and single-make series and now makes the step up to GT racing.
In the Cup division, Tockwith Motorsports will once again be represented by the Porsche 911 driven by Dave Benett and Marcus Fothergill. The duo finished second in the overall points last season but secured the Iberian Supercars Cup title in 2023.
Team Manager Nigel Moore is optimistic about the upcoming campaign. “We are thrilled to be returning to the championship for another year. We are continuing with some fantastic drivers from previous seasons and welcoming new ones to our team for the 2025 season. We can’t wait to get the season underway, with the official test taking place next month. We are ready to compete in a great championship and fight for the top spot”, said the Tockwith Motorsports boss, who is also seeking drivers for a Mercedes-AMG GT4 entry.
The grid continues to grow as the season opener approaches, set to take place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve on 5-6 April, with the official pre-season test scheduled for 22 March at the Autódromo do Estoril.
