SuperCars: Gustavo Moura/Luís Cidade and Pedro Silva/Jorge Silva in "pole" in Portimão

The duo Gustavo Moura / Luís Cidade (Hyundai Elantra N TCR) and Pedro Silva / Jorge Silva (Audi RS3 LMS TCR) were the fastest, on Friday afternoon, in qualifying for the two races of the third round of SuperCars Endurance Series, at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão. This Saturday will be the Hyundai pilots to start in the first place of the grid and on Sunday it will be the Audi's responsibility to start from the front, after a timed practice that took place under the dominance of the TCR category cars.

Judging by the performance balance verified in the Algarve circuit, everything indicates that the two races of the weekend, each one with 45 minutes duration and including driver changes for the doubles, will provide, as in the previous rounds, interesting duels in the fight for the first places. In the TCR category, Daniel Teixeira (CUPRA Leon TCR), championship leader, was close to the two duos already mentioned and will surely be another protagonist in the fight for victory.

The Spanish SMC Motorsport team, with the McLaren 570s driven by Guillermo Aso and Gonzalo de Andrés, didn't give chances in the GT4 Pro category, securing two first places on the grid, but in both races José Carvalhosa and the young Chilean Nicolas Pino, in the Garagem João Gomes Porsche Cayman, promise not to give them a break. Mechanical problems in the Tockwith Motorsport Ginetta G55 of Edward Moore and Marmaduke Hall prevented them from going any faster.

In the GT4 Bronze category, Lithuanian Andrius Zemaitis (Porsche Cayman) beat JC Group Racing Team's José Correia/Gabriela Correia (Mercedes AMG), who showed a significant evolution, showing themselves more and more at ease with the German car.

Amongst the GTC, Francisco Gonçalves (Lotus Exige) achieved the two best times, being noteworthy that Jemma Moore - on the verge of conquering the category championship title, just needing one point in this round - and Paulo Sousa, following problems in the Ginetta G50 of the Tockwith Motorsport team, almost didn't run in the Algarve track.
