SuperCars Endurance: Pino/Hall duo wins second race at Jarama

The Nicolas Pino/Marmaduke Hall duo, in the Ginetta G55 of Tockwith Motorsport, triumphed on Sunday afternoon in the second race of the opening day of SuperCars Endurance at the Spanish circuit of Jarama, crossing the finish line with an advantage of more than half a minute over the Portuguese duo António Coimbra/Luís Silva (Mercedes AMG), winner of the GT4 bronze class.

This time, and contrary to what had happened in the morning's race, the GTs ended up dictating their law and not once a TCR car was in the lead. Gustavo Moura (Hyundai Elantra N TCR) occupied the second position, but was losing gas, and the luck was not with Daniel Teixeira (CUPRA TCR), when he ran out of gas... in the last lap, when he was leading among the TCR and seemed to have secured a place in the final "top 5", to be, in the end, only 12th. "It's incredible, but I ran out of fuel to finish the race. We even put in more quantity than in the first race, although I would have finished with a good reserve and I don't understand what happened now. I could have won the TCR, but, well, that's part of racing...", said, dejectedly, the JT59 Racing Team driver. Moura, although not without problems, benefited from his rival's setback. "I lost my brakes and also had problems with tyre management. It's a new car and we're evolving, but I learnt more in the first race than in this one?", said the GC24 Motorsport driver, whose final fifth place left him satisfied, as he guaranteed the primacy among the TCR.

The biggest highlight, apart from the winning duo, which had the Chilean Nicolas Pino as its main protagonist, for the pace imposed in his driving shift? towards the first place, was the Coimbra/Silva duo. The first, as he didn't make Saturday's qualifying, for private reasons, started from the last position of the grid, but at the moment of the driver's change, he gave the Sports & You Mercedes AMG to Luís Silva in the second place of the general classification and first of the GT4 bronze class. "I started a bit slow, but then I received indications via radio to go faster and with a fantastic car I managed the race to reach the goal. Everything was impeccable", said Luís Silva.

The McLaren 570S from SMC Motorsport started very well, with Gonzalo de Andrés, who started from pole, imposing a very strong pace and leading, but after the driver change, Guillermo Aso couldn't keep that position. "I managed, with a fast 'stint', 13 to 14 seconds ahead, but then my teammate made a 'spin' and we ended up in the final fourth place. It was the possible result...", commented De Andrés.

Once again, Nico Abella (Peugeot 308 Racing Cup) was unbeatable, managing to finish third overall thanks to a great regularity and a very strong pace. "This just proves that with this car it's possible to achieve good results and I hope that in the next races we'll have more Peugeot drivers", said the Chefosport "boss" and driver.

Jorge Rodrigues/Francisco Carvalho (Porsche 981 Cayman MR) finished in the second place of GT4 bronze, after a good race, while José Correia/Gabriela Correia, in the JC Group Racing Team Mercedes AMG, still adapting to the car, finished the race in the "top 10".
