The first race of the Iberian Supercars and Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade was fiercely contested until the checkered flag, with Bernardo Sousa and Carlos Vieira (Sports & You Toyota Supra GT4) winning the duel against Miguel Lobo and Francisco Mora (Veloso Motorsport Porsche Cayman RS CS).
Speedy Motorsport’s César Machado had a strong start from pole position, maintaining the lead followed by Bernardo Sousa, while Miguel Lobo was the big winner of the first few meters of the race, moving from eighth on the grid to third, fighting for podium places and even for the victory.
The pace was relentless, with the Speedy Motorsport Toyota driver trying to pull away in the lead, despite having a ten-second handicap to serve. However, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Salvador Portugal car did not back down and kept the leader always in his sights, bringing along the Veloso Motorsport driver.
Despite the furious pace, positions remained unchanged until the pit stops, when the standings were significantly altered. The official Toyota, now driven by Carlos Vieira, moved into first place, benefiting from his teammate's good stint and the handicaps of their rivals, followed by Francisco Mora.
With the two separated by about three seconds, the Porsche driver began to close in on the Japanese car, suggesting an intense battle for victory at the end of the race.
The closing in was hastened by a Full Course Yellow caused by a Monteiros Competições-run Ginetta G40 crash. Upon resumption, Carlos Vieira had difficulty disengaging the speed limiter on his car, leaving the Veloso Motorsport Porsche on his tail.
On the last lap, Francisco Mora attempted to challenge for the lead, but the Toyota Gazoo Racing Caetano Portugal driver was undeterred, holding the lead to win the first race of the weekend with an eight-tenths of a second advantage over his pursuer.
The worst was yet to come for Miguel Lobo and Francisco Mora, as they were penalized fifty-six seconds for not meeting the minimum pit stop time, dropping them to sixteenth place.
César Machado and Jan Durán, after leading the first part of the race, recovered well from their ten-second handicap, finishing third on the track and being promoted to second due to the penalty for the Veloso Motorsport Porsche.
Guillermo Aso and Filip Vava had a good race, confirming their strong pace from the previous day, and secured the third step on the podium with the NM Racing Team's Mercedes AMG GT4.
Jorge Rodrigues and Patrick Cunha delivered an excellent performance to win the GT4 Bronze race, despite a ten-second handicap.
The Veloso Motorsport Audi R8 LMS GT4 drivers faced strong opposition from Stepan Suslov, but they managed to overcome the young Mirage Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 driver, who was also penalized for not meeting the minimum pit stop time, dropping him to twentieth place.
Alberto de Martín and Nil Montserrat, in the NM Racing Team Mercedes AMG GT4, and Francisco Carvalho, also in a Veloso Motorsport Mercedes AMG, took the next positions in the division.
Keith Gatehouse and Igor Sorokin had a good debut at the Autódromo do Estoril, winning the GT4 Am division and securing a solid twenty-first place overall in an NM Racing Team Mercedes AMG GT4.
Rafael Muncharaz, in an SMC Motorsport McLaren 570S GT4, and RACAR Motorsport pair Rúben Vaquinhas and Pedro Bastos Rezende completed the GT4 Am division podium.
Daniel Teixeira, in a JT59 Racing Team Hyundai Elantra N TCR, drove an attacking race, seeing the checkered flag in nineteenth place, managing to compete with some GT4 cars in the TCR division.
Rui Miritta and series newcomer Tiago Gonçalves were the strongest in the Cup, taking the Monteiros Competições Porsche 911 to victory against the similar car from Tockwith Motorsports driven by Marcus Fothergill and Dave Benett.
Henrique Cruz and Aubrey Hall were involved in a heated battle with Álvaro Vela and Sébastien Villadary, but two by the Chefo Sport Ligier JS2R duo in the second half of the race made things easier for the Tockwith Motorsports Ginetta G55 duo, who triumphed in GTX.
