RACAR MOTORSPORT REVEALS DRIVERS FOR 2025 CAMPAIGN

Racar Motorsport has unveiled its lineup of drivers for the three Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4s it will field this year in the Iberian Supercars and the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade.

The Odivelas-based team will have three cars on the grid this year and, for the GT4 Pro division, is betting on youth to fight for top positions.

The Aston Martin bearing the number 77 will feature two drivers already familiar with the championship, as Mathieu Martins teams up with Roberto Faria, both part of the AMR Academy.

The young Portuguese-French driver finished last season as runner-up in the Iberian Supercars GT Drivers’ Championship and third in the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade – GT Drivers’ category.

Brazilian driver Roberto Faria finished 2024 in sixth place in the Iberian Supercars GT Drivers’ standings and fourth in the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade - GT Drivers’ category.

Mathieu Martins is excited and determined for this season. “It’s fantastic to be back racing with Racar Motorsport. The team has been developing consistently, which gives us confidence in our competitiveness for the season. I’m highly motivated and have a teammate I know very well. I believe we have all the ingredients to fight for our goals – competing for wins and championships,” he said.

Roberto Faria is fully aligned with his teammate. “We know the competition is very strong and has strengthened over the off-season, but at Racar Motorsport, we’ve also been working throughout the winter to prepare thoroughly for the 2025 season. I have a very competitive teammate, and we are determined to fight for victory in every race and be in contention for the championships. We will give it our best,” emphasised the Brazilian.

The team’s second Aston Martin will feature a duo that guarantees a strong future – Henrique Ventura Oliveira and Luca Savu – who will also compete in the GT4 Pro division.

The 16-year-old Portuguese driver, after a short karting career, made his motorsport debut last year, competing in the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade and Iberian Supercars as part of the FPAK Junior Team. By the end of the season, he had claimed two TC victories, earning him second place in the Iberian series and third in the Portuguese division standings.

The 17-year-old Romanian driver is one of his country’s top talents, having competed in the French F4 Championship, where he showcased his potential with some strong results in a competitive field, including tenth and fifth-place finishes among 26 drivers at the Nogaro round.

Henrique Ventura Oliveira acknowledges the faith placed in him and is determined to reward the team with good results. “Racar Motorsport has been strengthening over the winter, and I believe it’s better prepared than ever. I’m very grateful for the opportunity they’ve given me, and I intend to repay them with good results, podiums, and my own development throughout the season,” stated the Portuguese driver

.

Luca Savu sees this as a major step in his career and has ambitious goals. “Everything is new for me – the type of car, the team, the championship, the circuits – so I have to adapt quickly. However, Racar Motorsport has made me feel part of the family, and I’m becoming increasingly comfortable with the Aston Martin, which is very different from anything I’ve driven before. This is an excellent opportunity for my career, and I am determined to fight for podiums and victories,” emphasised the Romanian.

Racar Motorsport’s colours will also be represented in the GT4 Am category by António Lopes and Filipe Videira, a duo who already competed in some races for the team last season.

António Lopes had already competed in circuit racing, driving a KIA, before making his debut last year with RACAR Motorsport – an AMR Partner Team. For Filipe Videira, however, it has been a completely new experience after previously competing in off-road racing.

António Lopes is excited about the upcoming season, emphasising that his main goal is to improve. “It’s fantastic to be back racing with Racar Motorsport, a team that shows great passion for motorsport. It’s going to be a tough season, and I feel that before looking at our rivals, I need to focus on myself and find ways to improve in every aspect. I’m very excited, and we’ll give it our best,” he said.

Filipe Videira is also determined to improve but sees racing as an opportunity to enjoy himself as well. “I’m very happy to be racing again with Racar Motorsport. I’m excited about the new season! Our main goal is always to have fun, but we also want to develop throughout the year and become more competitive, as this will be our first full season in circuit racing. We’ll work hard, and maybe we can even achieve a few podiums in our category,” he added.

With its driver line-up now confirmed, the Portuguese team is preparing for the start of the season, set to take place on 5-6 April at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.
