A new team will join Iberian SuperCars Endurance series this coming weekend (9/10 September) for the 2 Hours of Barcelona at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Spanish based Jota Motorsport will enter a Ginetta G50 (GTC class) for Spaniard Juan Carlos Arias and British Tom Seldon.
It will be the first time that this hispanic-british pair will line up together, awaiting with natural expectation the unprecedented format in which this race will be disputed. The Iberian Supercars Endurance competitors are part of the same grid of the 24 Hours of Barcelona, but their race will last only two hours.
"To be part of the same grid of the 24 Hours of Barcelona is a dream that will come true, also because we are talking about the circuit where I race at home. Without doubt, it will be my most important race to date and it means, on the other hand, a huge challenge for a team as small as ours," said Juan Carlos Arias.
British driver Tom Seldon does not hide his enthusiasm for such an “adventure”.
"I'm really looking forward to the Supercars Endurance race at Barcelona in September. Jumping into a Ginetta GT4 car and racing around one of the world's most iconic circuits, surrounded by around sixty GT3, GT4, and TCR cars just looks like an incredible experience. My teammate has never driven the car at Barcelona, and I haven't yet driven the car at all, so it's going to be a real trial by fire to get on the pace in a short space of time. But we both love a challenge, and whatever happens I'm sure it'll be a great race,” he added.
