Borja Hormigos and Héctor Hernández, reigning champions of the TC title in 2023, are set to elevate their racing careers by transitioning to the GT4 category of Iberian Supercars and Supercars España this season, proudly representing Autoworks Motorsport and staying true to the BMW brand.
The Spanish duo showcased their prowess throughout the previous season, clinching their division's title and fiercely contending for dominance in the Touring Car category. Their success was fueled by the unmatched consistency and reliability of the BMW M240i Racing, combined with the expertise of the Toledo-based outfit.
This season marks a thrilling new chapter in Borja Hormigos and Héctor Hernández's racing journey as they embrace the challenge of Iberian Supercars and Supercars España with a BMW M4 (F82) GT4.
"After winning the TC championship we have acquired a BMW M4 GT4 to compete in the Iberian Supercars and Supercars España during 2024. It is clear to us that we are taking a big leap and it will not be an easy season. It will be a big challenge for the team as we will have to familiarise ourselves with a GT4 car, with which we will be making our debut both in terms of driving and set-up, and also to be competitive in a category where there are teams and drivers with a lot of experience", says Borja Hormigos.
"With this first season in the Iberian Supercars Endurance we have confirmed that this is a championship with a great variety of drivers and very professional teams, and that translates into a very big and competitive grid at the same time. It is clear to us that this is where we want to be in 2024, and that our bet was the right one, as many new teams will join this year", added Héctor Hernández.
The action-packed season for both championships kicks off on May 25th and 26th at the Circuito de Jerez, preceded by a test day slated for April 6th at the Autódromo do Estoril.
