Batina Racing retains its driver pairing for the 2025 season of the Iberian Supercars and Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade, continuing with Sérgio Azevedo and Orlando Batina at the wheel of the team’s Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2.

The Aveiro-based team entered the premier Iberian competition in 2023 with a BMW M4 GT4 (F82), claiming victory in the final race of the season at Estoril.

However, last season made it clear that the Munich-built car was starting to show its age, prompting Batina Racing to invest in a Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, which made its debut in the Valencia round in September.

After a period of adaptation, the Portuguese outfit believes it is better prepared for the 2025 season, as team driver Orlando Batina explains. “Last year was very unusual, as we switched cars midway through the championship, which cost us some time in understanding the Toyota, and that was reflected in our results. For next season, the entire team, including the drivers, has a much better understanding of the Supra, and we are excited and eager for the season to begin. I believe we can be a factor in the fight for top-10 positions despite the increasing competitiveness of the championship and challenge for victories in the GT4 Pro-Bronze division”,stated the Silver-ranked driver.

Meanwhile, Sérgio Azevedo, who is teaming up with Orlando Batina for the third consecutive year, also expresses greater optimism. “It is a great pleasure to be back with Batina Racing, with Orlando as my teammate. 2024 was challenging, but we have already shown that we can be competitive and achieve strong results. We know it won’t be easy, but we are committed to fighting for podium positions in the GT4 Pro-Bronze division. And of course, we also want to have fun on track. We are very excited”, he said.

The grid continues to expand, setting the stage for an electrifying season ahead. With just a month to go, anticipation builds for the start of the Iberian Supercars, Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade, and Supercars España season, kicking off at the Algarve International Circuit on April 5-6. Before the action begins, teams and drivers will have the chance to fine-tune their machines during the official pre-season test at Autódromo do Estoril on March 22.
